BINAR 2023 Exhibition

The BINAR exhibition is an annual exhibition organized by undergraduate students of the Craft Study Program FSRD ITB. Each craftwork made for the BINAR exhibition is meant to have its own unique illumination, and it is hoped that this will bring inspiration, curiosity, joy, and happiness for the audience to further enjoy the craft.

The BINAR exhibition 2023 was held at the Yuliansyah Akbar Gallery, Urbane Indonesia, Bandung from Friday, March 3 to Sunday, March 6, 2023, with the theme “Extension of the Self”. This theme is chosen because the expression is a process of expressing ideas and emotions that can be present in abstract or material form. Craft objects are one of many medium objects (artifacts) that are often used in efforts to convey expression. The craft object becomes an identity that reflects the physical and psychological condition of a human being and a community group.

Chief Executive of the 2023 BINAR Exhibition, Anastasia, said that the exhibitors are active members of the association TERIKAT Craft FSRD ITB 2022/2023 with very diverse forms of work displayed at the BINAR 2023 exhibition. On this occasion, Anastasia also said “In preparing for this exhibition, there were indeed many ups and downs, good communication is the key so that the exhibition could run as expected. We sacrifice our free time to manage exhibitions. We also learn new things such as art handling, curating works, managing lighting and exhibition flow, and others. Even though there is still a lot of room for the BINAR Exhibition to develop in the future, we are quite proud of what we have provided to all exhibition visitors and hope that all visitors will not return empty-handed. They get new inspiration, new determination, new knowledge, and souvenirs from the new BINAR 2023 Bazaar.”
