Budi Isdianto\, M.Sn. Assistance is carried out online by designers and mentors for 20 creative actors in NTT. 10 general designers and 10 design students from FSRD ITB will assist EKRAF actors. \nThe selection process of 20 DESIGNERS is done through open call submission\, where designers are asked to fill out forms online\, send CV and portfolios\, and do an interview for the top 30 selected designers. 20 designers who are excellent in design experience and have high motivation to collaborate with creative and creative actors in Indonesia are then selected. \n“It is hoped that in the future\, the 20 selected DESIGNERS will contribute to and collaborate with selected creative actors in increasing the attractiveness\, image and quality of curated MSME products and packaging; elevating the identity and characteristics of NTT’s handicrafts and culinary through product and packaging development through; offers opportunities to develop product differentiation for existing creative actors”\, said Meirina Triharini\, M.Ds.\, Ph.D.

DESCRIPTION:Departing from the awareness that there is a tendency for increasingly complex problems and phenomena in human life\, a multidimensional approach is needed. Sciences that were originally monodisciplinary developed into interdisciplinary and even transdisciplinary. The merging of two research groups\, the Design and Visual Culture Research Group with the Literacy\, Culture and Media Research Group in the Faculty of Art and Design\, Institut Teknologi Bandung is one of the efforts to remain relevant in this increasingly complex world. \nTo introduce the merging of the two research groups\, a series of discussion and exhibition with the theme “TRANSPOSITION: Visual Culture Literacy Festival” will be held. The first event of the festival was a discussion on the book “Transestetika I: Seni dan Simulasi Realitas” by Prof. Dr. Yasraf Amir Piliang\, M.A. \nThis book tries to explain the effort to understand how the democratization of taste works in the field of creation of works of art is the key to entering the myriad of interpretation which is impossible to completely penetrate with just one or two meanings. DESCRIPTION:International Seminar \nDystopian Diffraction \nReconsidering Image-Making after Photography \nOctober 18\, 2022 \n10.00 AM Western Indonesia Time \nIn today’s realm of visual culture\, the development of digital technology and information technology has caused the relationship between image and photography to be vulnerable to question. Various kinds of cameras – including their presence in mobile phones – make it possible for anyone today to easily produce images with all intentions and various skills. Then\, the sophistication of digital technology made it easier for anyone to manipulate photographic images; today\, a person can produce various images without carrying a camera. In the end\, even in art photography\, artworks no longer have to be produced through the process of “taking the usual” through dependence on a tool called a camera. In the situation of today’s visual culture\, images are scattered everywhere freely\, and anyone can access them as needed as “objects of discovery”. \nAs a reflective effort on the above background\, we will direct our perspective to image-making after the era of photography. “After Photography”\, according to Fred Ritchin\, means examining the myriad ways in which the digital revolution has fundamentally altered the way we receive visual information\, from photos of news events taken by ordinary people on cell phones to the widespread use of image surveillance. In a world beset by critical problems and ambiguous boundaries\, Ritchin argues that it is time to begin energetically exploring the possibilities created by digital innovations and to use them to better understand our rapidly changing world.\nThis international seminar is a collaboration between the Visual Art Study Program\, Faculty of Visual Art and Design\, ITB with Bandung Photography Triennale 2022.
