SUMMARY:“Evolutionary Creativity” by Eisuke Tachikawa
DESCRIPTION:Eisuke Tachikawa is a design strategist whose profession goes beyond the cross-disciplines of product design\, graphic design\, and architecture who continuously strives to design alternative solutions for a better life in the future. He advocates for “Evolutionary Creativity” which tells the story of how the essence of creativity in design resembles the evolutionary process of living organisms. \nWon more than 100 awards worldwide including the Good Design Gold Award (Japan) and DFA Design for Asia Grand Award (Hong Kong). He has also been a judge for the Good Design Award\, DIA (Design Intelligence Award)\, DFAA (Design for Asia Award)\, and WAF (World Architecture Festival). \nEisuke Tachikawa is the CEO of NOSIGNER\, a design firm that focuses on social change and future-oriented projects\, and is the President of JIDA (Japan Industrial Design Association). He has also held crucial positions in the academic field\, including as a visiting professor at the Kanazawa Art College\, and a Board Member at the Kirirom Institute of Technology\, Cambodia. For this reason\, creativity and innovation are needed in developing a design strategy from the perspective of sustainability itself. \nSustainable design became the topic raised in the Karsa Bina collaboration class entitled “Creativity in a Sustainability Perspective” by Drs. Budi Isdianto\, M.Sn. The class will be held on Tuesday\, January 31\, 2023 at the Design Center ITB\, Center of Arts\, Design & Language building\, at 15.00-17.00 WIB. \nThis collaborative class consisting of the School of Architecture\, Planning and Policy Development with the Faculty of Art and Design ITB (Architecture\, Regional and Urban Planning\, Product Design\, Interior Design study program) it is expected to enhance students to think multi-perspectively\, through integral\, comprehensive and creative thinking by utilizing it in working collectively to develop themselves with the community.
